Top tips for branding your promotional materials

Having good branding is key to ensuring your company is remembered and trusted by customers both old and new alike!

The key to good branding is making sure everything is consistent. Your logo, website, and promotional materials such as branded packaging should complement each other and reflect your brand.

We’ve got a few tips for you to help you when branding promotional bags and other packaging materials.

Add your logo

There is no point in designing stunning bags or other marketing materials if they fail to include your logo, which people will ultimately use to identify and connect with your brand. Research suggests the human brain processes images 60,000 times faster than text so adding your logo and having a logo that stands out is key.

Your logo should at a minimum be on your website, and on your signage if you have a bricks and mortar store. You can then add it to all communications with customers, but also make sure it is included with every sale.

The simplest way to do this is to use printed packaging such as bespoke printed bags, printed tissue paper, or even stickers from StickerYou with your logo on them.

Brand colours

The look and feel of your website and marketing materials will be heavily influenced by your colour choices. Colour can really have an impact on people’s perceptions of a product or brand, so you should choose colours that are inviting and match those you use elsewhere.

Be aware that printed paper bags and other marketing materials can sometimes look slightly different in colour, so there are some things to consider:

  • Research what may work well across a range of applications such as digital and print
  • Check the best colour matches in every colour system, especially CMYK and Pantone
  • Ask for a proof to approve before printing goes ahead to check that the colour is as close as it can be

Get your brand out there

Traditionally brands have used marketing avenues such as print or TV, alongside selling products with bespoke packaging and custom stickers.

The beauty of a tech-filled world is that you can combine traditional marketing with digital marketing, harnessing social media and getting people to share pictures of your products which will get them seen across the world.

With printed luxury paper bags, for example, you can then style these in photos that you share on social media alongside your products. Plus, having custom bags alone is going to get you exposure when they are used out and about by customers.
